JOB OPPORTUNITIES IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
A construction company with head office at Enugu and projects spread across Nigeria, is looking for personnel to fill the under listed positions.

PROJECT MANAGER:
The preferred candidate must possess a university degree or HND in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 8 years post qualification experience as the project manager of a reputable construction company.
Candidate who must also be registered with COREN and NSE, should also be hardworking, have good leadership qualities and a team player.

ADMIN MANAGER:
The candidate for this position will report to the Managing Director and should be able to work independently. The successful candidate must be a holder of university degree or equivalent and a professional Administration and/or Management qualification, with a minimum of 5 years post professional qualification administration experience, preferable in the construction industry.

FINANCE MANAGER:
The candidate for this position will report to the Managing Director and should be able to work independently. The successful candidate must be a holder of university degree or equivalent and a professional Accountancy qualification, with a minimum of 5 years post professional qualification accountancy experience, preferable in the construction industry. Proficiency in the use of accounting software is an advantage.

PLANT MANAGER:
The successful candidate must be a holder of university degree or HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with a minimum of 7 years post qualification experience, preferable in the construction industry.

FIELD ENGINEERS:
The candidates for this position should be able to work with minimum supervision on construction site. Successful candidates must be holders of at least HND in Civil/Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, and have a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in building industry. Candidates must be able to demonstrate sound theoretical knowledge of engineering analysis and designs in their respective disciplines.

QUANTITY SURVEYOR:
The candidates for this position must be holders of minimum of HND in Quantity Surveying with demonstrable experience of at least 3 years of working as a quantity surveyor in a reputable firm.

OTHER POSITIONS:
Candidates with related qualification(s), skills and requisite experience are required for the following positions/trades:
Cost control,
Wages Clerk,
Accounts Clerk,
Store Keeper,
Machine/plant Operators,
Secretary/Computer Operator,
Form-work design and Construction,
Survey Assistants,
Machine/Heavy Equipment Operator,
Drivers and Security Men.

Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) 2010/2011 OVERSEAS SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME

In furtherance of its mandate, the PTDF is inviting interested qualified Nigerians to apply for its M.Sc and PhD scholarships in Engineering, Geology, Sciences, and Geosciences in Universities in the United Kingdom for the 2010/2011 session.

Application forms can be accessed online
from designated main branches of First Bank of Nigeria Plc in all state capitals and FCT upon the payment of a NON-REFUNDABLE sum of N1,000 (One Thousand Naira only). Instructions on how to access the forms online are clearly stated on the backside of the cards. The forms can also be accessed through the Scholarship Boards of the 36 States of the Federation and Directorate of Education under the FCDA, Abuja on presentation of First Bank Draft (only) with face value of N1,000.

Applicants are hereby advised to note that only those who meet the requirements below shall be shortlisted and invited for an Electronic Aptitude Test for M.Sc and oral interview for PhD applicants on dates and locations that will be announced in due course. PTDF will assist successful candidates in securing admission into suitable M.Sc courses, while the possession of a valid United Kingdom University Admission Letter is compulsory for all PhD applicants.

MSc REQUIREMENTS
1. A minimum of Second Class Upper (2.1) in an Oil and Gas related field OR a 2.2 with oil and gas industry experience;
2. National Youth Service (NYSC) certificate;
3. Applicants must be computer literate;
4. Possession of O/ level or credit in English language in WAEC,GCE and SSCE; and
5. Applicants must not be above 35 years of age

Applicants without credit in English language as in (4) above but possess any of the following may apply
1. Test of English language as a foreign language (TOEFL)
2. G.R.E (Graduate Record Examination)
3. GMAT – for Management related courses
4. International English Language Testing system (IELTS)
